Clear Path International

Using WebEx WebOffice to manage
donor lists and events

Customer Business Profile

Clear Path International (CPI), based in Dorset, VT, serves landmine accident survivors, their families and communities. CPI’s most comprehensive programs are in Vietnam, Cambodia and on the Thai-Burma border — where it provides direct medical and social services to landmine survivors and their families, as well as equipment support to hospitals.

CPI also provides scholarships for children injured by accidental explosions or whose parents have sustained such injuries. And, CPI offers household support grants to families of victims.

The Situation

“We work all around the world and the idea of having data in a central location, for all to access online, was really appealing. We were particularly interested in having our mailing list and donor list on an intranet,” says Martha Hathaway, Executive Director and Co-Founder of CPI.

Before WebOffice, CPI tried using Microsoft Excel to track this information. “We used to exchange Excel spreadsheets, via email, among our offices, but it was cumbersome and not accurate. You can imagine the hassle there — which is the most recent version of the spreadsheet? How to merge them? Arrrggghhh!!”

The Solution

“We were thrilled when my husband and CPI co-founder, James Hathaway, discovered WebOffice, then known as Intranets.com, as he implemented it for one of his clients. He recommends WebOffice to many other clients and colleagues, as well.”

CPI uses the WebOffice Database Manager and Document Manager extensively. CPI’s contact database — used daily to track supporters, donation information and so on — is on WebOffice. CPI also uses WebOffice for document transfer and event planning — allowing the details to be in one place online. “We have offices in the U.S. on the East and West Coasts, and abroad. Now, we can all be on the same page when referencing donors.”

"WebOffice has made a world of difference to our organization. It has improved our productivity tremendously."

The Benefits

“We are a fairly small operation. Everyone that uses WebOffice loves it and we use it everyday! The biggest business challenge WebOffice solves for us is keeping all our data in a central online location. This has improved our productivity tremendously. Housing our databases on WebOffice and having technical support from WebEx to build and refine our databases is what we like most about the service.”

WebOffice increases productivity for CPI by allowing consolidation and updating of data from donor lists from dispersed offices. WebOffice eliminates the hassles of updating the list from multiple sources and verifying the most current version of the list. “We always know that the version on WebOffice is the most up-to-date version.”

WebOffice also makes it easier for the organization to plan events and share documents among its widely dispersed offices.

“Our experience with WebOffice’s customer service has been fantastic. They are prompt problem-solvers with good customer service skills.”

“As for how much we have saved by using WebOffice? We have saved our sanity and that, my friends, is priceless.”
