Intranets.com Announces Record Financial Results in Q4, 2002
Company Continues as Worldwide Leader in Online Collaboration with over 140,000 Users in 6,000 Organizations
Boston, MA (March 19, 2003) - Intranets.com (www.intranets.com), the leader in online collaboration services, today announced that it achieved record financial results during the fourth quarter of 2002. The company reported record revenues for the year ended 2002 and an increase of 76% from 2001. As a privately owned company, Intranets.com does not publish detailed revenue or profitability information.
Since converting from an advertising-supported free service to the current subscription-based service, Intranets.com has sustained 21 consecutive reporting periods of month-over-month sales growth and is currently operating profitably.
"Businesses of all kinds are rapidly recognizing the benefits of choosing our web services model versus building a collaboration solution from scratch," said Rick Faulk, CEO of Intranets.com. "The key to our customer value proposition is the idea of no hardware or software to buy or maintain, and zero up-front investment. Intranets.com continues to be the world-wide market leader with more than 140,000 users worldwide."
"The proven advantage of our online software model and the growing market demand for this type of software-as-a-service solution sets the stage for continued expansion and investments in additional web services moving forward," said J. Lawrence Griffin, the company's CFO. "Our subscription business model affords us the benefit of having a very predictable stream of revenue, cash flow and profitability going forward."
The company also set a record for the number of minutes of service usage in Q4. Contributing significantly to the company's increased usage of the service are its frequent product enhancements, particularly the September 2002 launch of its feature-rich Database Manager application. The Database Manager offers users the ability to build and share fully customizable databases from scratch or from one of eight ready-made solution templates. The Database Manager is just one part of an integrated collaboration suite that includes other business-critical applications such as Online Calendar, Document Manager, Discussion Forums and more.
