Intranets.com Launches Private Label Partner Program
New Affinity Marketing Strategy Expands Reach to Millions of Small Businesses through Strategic Partnerships
Boston, Mass. (November 9, 1999) - Intranets.com (www.intranets.com), developer of the world's first free intranet portal, today announced its Affinity Marketing program, which enables companies to deliver their own free intranet solution to their small business customers under a private label. This strategic initiative is tailored to the needs of partners such as telecommunications companies, internet service providers (ISPs), information/vertical portals, national associations and web-based business services, among others.
As part of its Affinity Marketing program, Intranets.com licenses a fully functional, OEM version of the Intranets.com intranet solution for delivery under the partner's own brand. The first partner to sign up for this service is the newly launched inc.com. By offering its own custom-branded intranet service to its small- and medium-sized business users, inc.com expects to benefit from increased site traffic, improved stickiness, and shared revenue streams generated from advertising and e-commerce transactions (see related press release, 11/9/99).
"By creating third-party champions for our offering and imbedding our functionality in their sites, we're translating the highly successful tool of affinity marketing from the financial world to the Internet," said Steve Crummey, co-founder and CEO of Intranets.com. "The concept of the Affinity Marketing program allows our partners to provide rich functionality to their users in a branded environment, while exponentially increasing Intranets.com's reach to new users through trusted third-parties."
The Intranets.com intranet portal solution provides partners' users with everything they need to quickly and easily create their own intranet - from must-have collaboration applications and custom news, to personalized vendor services. The Intranets.com business applications enable organizations to enhance and automate core business functions such as managing documents, publishing community announcements, maintaining users' contact information and creating community event calendars. Private label partners can customize the Intranets.com service to include company/organization identity, e-commerce partners, specific industry-related news and integration of existing Web applications.
In just the ninety days since Intranets.com launched its free intranet service, an impressive 45,000 small businesses and groups have registered for their own custom intranet. Intranets.com expects the Affinity Marketing program to increase membership while providing an additional source of revenue and level of awareness for the company.
"In today's internet economy, companies must do everything they can to attract and retain a large and diverse customer base. Online competition is fierce as companies clamor to provide site visitors with services that are of unique value. Intranets.com will help companies differentiate themselves from the crowd," said Jay Gordon, vice president of business development and strategic alliances for Intranets.com. "We invite companies to partner with us and expand the breadth and depth of their online offerings."
