Intranets.com Ranked "Stickiest" Business-to-Business Web Site in the World
Intranets.com is #1 in average minutes spent per user during October-November, 2000
WOBURN, MA (March 5, 2001) - Intranets.com (www.intranets.com) was the stickiest business-to-business Web site in the world during October-November, 2000, according to Jupiter Media Metrix data cited in a report published on www.btobonline.com.
The article reports Jupiter Media Metrix found the average Intranets.com user spent nearly 37 minutes per month on Intranets.com — more than double the 16 minute average users spent on the second-ranked business-to-business Web site during that 60-day period.
Intranets.com, which launched in 1999, offers small businesses and groups a secure workplace on the Web with business applications such as document sharing, hosted e-mail, group calendar and announcement posting.
"This data affirms yet again the value and usability of our group communication and collaboration workplaces," said Rick Faulk, vice president of marketing at Intranets.com. "It's gratifying to receive independent confirmation of what we're hearing from the more than 400,000 small businesses and other groups that have created intranets."
During the same period, Media Metrix reports Intranets.com averaged 10.9 million pages viewed per month by unique visitors, making Intranets.com third in the world among business-to-business Web sites in generating page views for unique users. Also during October-November, 2000, they report Intranets.com averaged 6.2 million unique visitors per month, making it the fifth most-visited b-to-b Web site.
Intranets.com credits its member marketing efforts with driving its usage numbers far beyond those of its competition. "Intranets.com has developed relationship marketing strategies to drive intranet usage," said Lisa Wilson-Wirth, director of customer relationship marketing at Intranets.com. "Utilizing highly segmented communications, profile-driven newsletters and other one-to-one member marketing techniques, Intranets.com has created the stickiest site in the world and a valuable service for our users."
Intranets.com has proven itself an efficient vehicle for its more than 200 business partners along with advertisers served by DoubleClick to reach the highly coveted small and medium-sized business market. "This data shows that Intranets.com possesses the ability to effectively reach and communicate with this sought after small business market," said Faulk. "This is also exactly what our current advertisers and business partners want to hear: they have signed on with the stickiest b-to-b site on the Web."
